Dominique Strauss-Kahn pleaded not guilty to sexual assualt charges today.

Former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich is back on the witness stand undergoing cross-examination in his retrial on corruption charges.

The Government rested its case today in the Chicago terror trial of Tahawwur Rana. The defense has said it will call a a computer expert and immigration attorney. Last week, the Judge denied the Government's motion under Daubert to exclude the expert testimony of Marc Sageman, an expert on LeT. They said it's unlikely Rana will testify. Rummana Hussein is live-tweeting from court.

    I'm not quite to ear plug age...yet.

    Last time we saw them, in Florida a few years ago, Eli got pulled up on stage to be in a bit with the men in blue.  I'm convinced they picked him because he was the only kid in the 1200 seat theater who wasn't jumping up and down and screaming "pick me, pick me, pick me!!!"  My boy was just staring in awe and wonder, and the blue dude picked up on it and went right for him.

    to Vegas a few years ago. Ended up seeing Penn & Teller and got pulled onstage for that show. What a blast that was. Got to be part of the "magic bullet" trick. They even let me keep the bullet.

    I think I must have looked like Dadler's son when I went to see them.  My choice was the new Cirque du Soleil and my husband's choice that vacation was Blueman.  I had no idea who they were or what they were going to do.  I think I was probably sitting there sort of dazed and glazed over trying to figure out what exactly was going on here :)

    water show but I lobbied them into taking me to Blue Man Group because my daughter had wanted to see it in Manhattan.  How's that for rational?  And, no, I had no idea what we were going to experience.  Did see the Cirque show later--terrific.

    let me take it with me, it was customs in Kuwait that took it. I was on my 4 day pass before deploying to Iraq. I explained to the supervisor at the airport what it was, a bullet and the casing from the act, and they let me through. As part of the act Penn & Teller have you put a symbol on the casing, I put a big heart on it hehe. So this "contraband" makes it all the way around the world with me and gets snatched.

    Gotta love the irony of taking it into a combat zone and having it confiscated.

    Got a big kick out of that black market website you posted about...that's crazy man.  I think the users must have big brass ones to leave a cyber trail like that for illegal activity that carries massive criminal penalties, ya can get buku years for 10 tabs of LSD.  I like it, but they're crazy.

    apartment have fledged. There were two babies, and I think I caught the second one after its first flight out of the nest yesterday.
    It was on my walkway, shaking and terrified of me, but it couldn't get off the ground to fly away. It's location was right below the nest, so I figure it just flew down.
    I went inside and it was gone after about 1 hour.
    I saw one of them flying this morning. You could definitely tell this bird had a learner's permit---it was careening around, and barely caught onto a branch to land.

    Breitbart is making the claim that a woman is coming forward with a cache of graphic emails, chats and photos, some of which is of an "extreme, graphic nature".  So far, though, all he's come out with is a photo of Weiner and two cats with the subject line "me and the pu$$ies".  I have no idea why he'd hold off on the "good stuff", if he had all he's claiming, although Weiner's responses have been very strange.

    We'll see what happens, but if Breitbart wrote an article claiming the ocean was made of water, I'd still go and dip my foot in to be sure.

    Nothing illegal has happened so far.  But it's just becoming weirder and more awkward.  If the allegations are true, then Weiner will join Tiger Woods in the Cheaters Hall of Fame, subcategory "you cheated on THAT woman?!!!"  I kind of like seeing cheating publicly de-linked from the idea of finding someone supposedly hotter or "moving up."

    However they welcomed the radar online's of the world because it launched their career.

    Somehow I don't think being the front page story on TMZ and Radar Online is a good move for a sitting congressman.

    bounce house.  I watched helplessly from a close range.  I am severely emotional distressed by these events, which were caused by failure to properly tether and/or monitor sd. bounce house.  According to press reports, there have been similar prior "accidents"-- one in AZ where the kids in the bounce house ended up blowing across a couple freeway lanes and landing in the median.

    hate it when you watch, and really hate it when you videotape it.

    Check out these allegations from a couple who witnessed a very questionable police shooting in Fla...they had to hide the video data in their mouth to get it to the Herald, say guns were put to their heads looking for that tape.

    Sadly, its a very believable all too common story these days in police state America.  Very brave of them to resist the violent intimidation.

     I don't know if anyone is following this case.
    There a few things that truly bothers me.
     1.The prosecution will never be able to determine how Callie died,not because of anything Kasey did or Geogre,but because the body was moved several time by a citizen to increase the reward.
     2. Where was her lawyer? Was she read her miranda rights(She gave so many interviews while in custody,taken from place to place, the jail phone calls)? Eventually she ask one of the women in lockup to recommend a attorney.
     3. Why in these high profile cases the prosecutor find expert to testify to things for the first time ever(the strand of hair maybe it's her hair,a smell expert) this type of testimony has never been accepted before. neither one of these expert have testified in court on this type of evidence before (where are the supervisors).
     4. The media has totally dismissed the sexually abuse charge.This is why it is so hard for victims to come forward(I think her brother Lee will confirm this). Time and testimony will tell. A father who would sexually abuse his daughter for this length of time, will only try to save himself.If he care about her, he never would have abused her.
     5. These high profile cases always bring a windfall of a lot of money(why the body was moved)Donation from all over the country,paid interviews,book deals ect..
     I don't have and opinion in this case, I will wait for all the evidence.Just question about the process.
     Prosecution job is to search for the truth!!!

    But from what I understand - the sexual abuse "charge" is one made by the defense in opening statements - the idea that Casey Anthony was sexually abused, so that's why she was forced to keep secrets and lie about where Caylee's body was.  In making a charge like that, the defense is going to have to prove that, and from what I have been reading, that probably means Casey Anthony will have to take the stand, which means the prosecutors will also get to cross-examine her.  Risky strategy, but since the defense brought it up, they are going to have to follow through with this.

    You can't just lob a charge like that against the father and then not have her testify - especially if that's her defense (it puts her mental state in play and the prosecution gets to cross examine her).  Her brother may be able to testify if he actually saw anything, but that doesn't mean she won't have to take the stand.  Then she's pretty much fair game for the state.

    If he witness this abuse for yrs.,His testimony will be enough(Casey say every morning before she went to school she had to perform oral sex on her father). The father has already testified that it did not happen.
     It's interesting that the prosecution tested her brother Dna for paternity of Callie.  It would really be a bombshell if the father (george Anthony) is the baby's daddy. Time will tell.

    Meanwhile, Austan Goolsbee continues his years-long trend of being an utter, obnoxious disappointment.  I'd love to see him replaced, I think he's a horrible spokesman for the President and he goes on TV way too often to be that weak.

    comes across as a lightweight but probably because he is one.  His answers to economic and jobless problems sound as if they were written by a Palin economist (if one were in her employ): more cuts, more regulations and let the natural market do its magic.
