MTV to Host Obama Inaugural Ball

MTV has announced it will host a "Be the Change Inaugural Ball" for President Barack Obama.

Above is a clip of President Bill Clinton and First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton at the 1993 MTV inaugural ball. I kept the VHS tape all these years and posted some of the best segments on You Tube a few years ago.

...but I have no use for any inauguration balls, speeches, any of it.  Not this time.  I have no interest in what eloquence Obama has to offer anymore, I only care about his performance as President.  And right now I just think we are past the point of speeches making any difference.  It's time for him to say enough, we will have the inauguration, a simple little party, then it's time to get it on as President.  Period, end of discussion.  We are way past the point of congratulating ourselves.  Or he himself.  Just take the oath and do the job.  That is all we need.  The rest is merely destructive distraction from far more important matters.

But it's not going to happen.  The Obama's like big spectacles, like his Greek temple thing at the convention and his acceptance speech before the throngs of people.  I expect the Obamas will attend 15 or more extravagant, Inaugural Balls, with hundreds of thousands of adoring fans.  Washington DC will be in total gridlock for days.  The costs will be in the millions.  But it's all for a good cause, right?

I also taped those events. I see that a lot of people have looked at the Talk Left You Tube video. Like over 160,000. Nice hits. But this was one of my favorites because it was so upbeat and it looked as if they were having a great time up there and enjoying every minute of the performance. Nice memories. And new ones to be made.
