I'm not so extreme.... (none / 0) (#16)

to where I think murderers shouldn't be locked up...of course they should be.  For how long should be based on the facts and circumstances of the case.  Not all violent felons should rot.  A serial killer?...Sure.  A violent crime of passion where the offender isn't likely to re-offend?...I'd say no.

Remember who you're talking to narius...I am not a law abiding citizen.  The laws, as written, make me a criminal.  I didn't draw the lines but I know what side I'm on bro.

REPEATED violent felons should rot in prison. I guess if it is JUST a crime for passion, and it is the first and only time, an exception may be made. However, a long sentence should be in order because violence is serious.

What crime did you commit? If it is just a victimless one (like possession of pot), I would not think too much of it.

If it is a violence crime, then I am sorry to say, you make my skin crawl just to be in the same forum.

The only violence I have ever committed was in self-defense.

The victimless crimes I have committed?....Damn, so many I've lost track:)

But it is these victimless so-called crimes that leave me no choice but to fear the law more than any criminal.

In that case, I am more than happy ... (none / 0) (#24)

to interact with you here.

IMHO, the law should make clear distinction between victimless crimes and the "real" ones.

Ideally, all the victimless crimes will be reclassified as "non-felony". If society wants to regulate individual behavior (which I oppose), the best way is through economic incentive. (Like, if you don't wear a seat belt, you pay a fine).
