the house of saud in power. were they to sever their alliance with the mullahs, the whole kingdom would come crashing down on their heads.

this is your classic "divine right" monarchy, inspired by those of europe. of course, the house of saud doesn't do history very well, or they'd have noticed that the last of them came to an end with the destruction of the ottoman empire, at the end of wwI.

Apparently, to some, the barbarism isnt the problem so much as the "interests" of those practicing it.

If only the Saudis would be satisified with waterboarding.
