Why didn't the sell everything to pay? (5.00 / 1) (#62)

For one thing, it would have been a drop in the bucket. Another thing, where the hell were they supposed to live after selling up everything? Don't say apartment, because according to your logic, they wouldn't have any money. Then, not having anywhere to live, let social services break up the family? Yeah, that's nice. Compassionate Conservatism at its' best.

And why the hell should anyone, any hard working family, in a country as wealthy as the US have to go bankrupt due to catastrophic illness or injury? You have no problem with supporting politicians health care with your tax dollars, but an injured child makes you slam on the brakes? boggle

As for the private schools: the only reason the Frost children attend private school is because they are on scholarships due to the (wait for it) horrendous injuries they received/recovered from, and were eligible for full scholarships. What next? Any prodigy who gets a full scholarship will be held up to ridicule, called a liar, and given death threats?

It's not like the parents sat on fat bank accounts in the Cayman Islands. All they had left was their home. And again, why should any hardworking family in one of the richest countries in the world go bankrupt and homeless due to a catastrophic injury or illness. Especially when the gov't has more than enough money to toss into bad endeavors. It's about time some of it was used for good ones.
