I know this piece of land. You have to drive through it to get to Padre Island from Houston/East Texas. It lies along the coast north of Harlingen and Brownsville. The Navy took a look at using part of this county as a shelling range when they quit using Vieques (sp?) by Puerto Rico a few years ago. I knew the population was small, but I didn't realize how small. I did think that this was funny (from Wikipedia for the county): 2004 election: Kenedy County gave a slim majority to Senator John Kerry over incumbent George W. Bush. Kerry won by three votes, 85 to 82. CS
