Always lovely to see the high level of discourse here at TL. That said, in a district that has been 20-30 points solidly in the Red, itomes down to two percentage points, and 3000 votes. This is in hard-scrabble Appalacia, the largest city is only 20,000 or so. In other words, the GOP somehow lost 18-28 percent of their usual supporters. This in spite of an 1800 point ad buy by the National Repub's in the week before the election. Yep they hung on to the seat all right. However, to claim that Rove, Melman and such have nothing to worry about are specious at best. I'm pretty sure we are going to hear from Major Hackett again on 06. 18-28 point swing against a three decades long trend? Sounds like a Gust Front to me....
