Here it comes... I said in 1999 that a two-term Bush Presidency would lead to a right wing court -- back in those myopic days, people said it couldn't happen -- that Bush was a moderate Conservative and that Republicans and Democrats weren't really that far apart. It has been demonstrated over the past almost 6 years that at least the last part of that statement was true. Don't expect any entrenched fight from the Democrats. They're probably on the phone with Bill Frist as we speak planning out the mock fight and ensuing Conservative biased media circus. It should tell you something that one of the very first acts of the Bush Admin was to remove the review of judges by the ABA. Judicial or legal expertise means nothing when weighed against ideological mettle. The long nightmare is reaching its crescendo. It's 2006, if Conservatives still rule our government six years from now, there will be another war, and Roe is toast. Write it down. Bank on it.
